Job Description
A Steel Operative / Bander is required for a steel processing company based in the Dudley area of the West Midlands. It is a great opportunity to join a well-established, reputable steel company during a period of growth.
This Steel Operative position is working on a temp to perm basis - with a permanent contract awarded after a probationary period. You will be operating cranes, driving FLTs, banding and more.
Duties include:
Assisting with loading / offloading steel on machine lines
Banding, packing and palletising stock
Operating overhead cranes to handle steel
Driving counterbalance FLTsYou will NOT need an Overhead Crane licence, but experience of operating overhead cranes to handle steel is required.
This position is working days and nights rotating weekly;
6:00am - 2:00pm (Monday to Friday - mornings)
2:00pm - 12:00am (Monday to Thursday - afternoons)
40 hours per week with paid breaksThe rate of pay is £12.21 on both shifts to begin with.
