Job Description

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority based in Warwickshire. This is a temporary contract for 3 months subject to possible extension, with a rate of pay of £27.66ph umbrella over a 22.5 hour working week (3 days). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the council's homes and buildings are safe, compliant, well-maintained and continually improved - delivering real impact for residents and the community. The Stock Condition Surveyor will cover a full range of building surveying and project management duties, including stock condition assessments (HHSRS, EPC), planned and cyclical maintenance, and improvement projects across our housing stock and property portfolio. They will also ensure that all works meet the Council's statutory, regulatory and health and safety responsibilities. Responsibilities: Plan, specify, procure, manage and deliver a variety of planned works and cyclical maintenance projects across council assets. Undertake stock condition surveys, defect inspections and feasibility studies; prepare technical drawings, tender documentation, and reports. Provide technical advice and act as a key contact for clients, contractors and customers throughout project delivery. Administer and manage maintenance contracts, including valuations, final accounts and contractor performance monitoring. Ensure all works comply with Health and Safety standards, including CDM Regulations. Analyse and interpret stock condition and compliance data to inform future investment and maintenance programmes. Requirements: Proven experience managing building projects from inception to completion. Sound understanding of health and safety and building-related legislation. Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Confidence in using Microsoft Office and other project-related ICT systems. A full UK driving licence or access to suitable transport. A relevant qualification in the built environment (HNC, HND or Degree)
