Job Description
We are currently recruiting for multiple Stock Controllers in the Swindon area to start May 2026.
About the Stock Controller role:
* Monday to Friday operation
* 2 x Fixed Early Shifts (6am-2pm) positions available
* 2 x Fixed Late Shifts (2pm-10pm) positions available
* £27,000 per annum
* Permanent role to start May 2026
* Based in Swindon (SN5)
Key Responsibilities for the Stock Controller role:
* Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliations
* Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly
* Monitor inbound and outbound stock movements and update systems accordingly
* Ensure stock is stored in the correct locations and that bin accuracy is maintained
* Update WMS/ERP systems with stock adjustments, movements, and corrections.
* Prepare stock reports and provide analysis on trends, shortages, and root causes.
* Assist with physical and system‑based stock audits, including year‑end counts
* Support goods-in and goods-out teams to ensure accurate receipt and dispatch of stock
* Identify and isolate damaged, slow-moving, or obsolete items and report accordingly
* Ensure stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) is followed
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure stock accuracy aligns with operational needs.
* Report stock risks, shortages, or discrepancies to management
* Work closely with the Quality team on returns, quarantined stock, and investigations
Experience / Skills required for the Stock Controller role:
* Previous experience in a stock control or inventory role
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations and stock control processes.
* Experience using WMS/ERP systems
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
