Job Description

Role: Stores Assistant

Location: Woore

Rate: £12.71ph - 40 hours per week

Hours: 8am to 4:30pm

Our client is currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant to join a busy and fast paced warehouse team within a well established manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stores, warehouse or materials handling experience who is looking to join a stable business offering full training, ongoing development and genuine opportunities for progression.

As a Stores Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse and the efficient movement and storage of materials and products.

Responsibilities:

Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods and materials
Picking and preparing materials and products for production or dispatch
Maintaining accurate stock records
Using WMS systems and handheld scanning equipment
Moving and handling materials safely around the warehouse
Supporting the wider warehouse and manufacturing teams as required
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Following company procedures and health & safety requirements 

This can be a physically demanding role, involving the handling and movement of the types of products manufactured on site, so candidates should be comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.

Skills and experience 

Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or materials handling role
Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
Good organisational and attention-to-detail skills
Experience using WMS systems and handheld scanners - desirable
A positive, flexible and team-focused approach
Good awareness of health & safety within a warehouse environment 

Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck certification is highly desirable, and candidates holding current certificates will be given preference.
