About the Role
An established engineering company is looking for a proactive and experienced Stores Controller to take ownership of its warehouse and stock operations in Bicester. This key role will involve managing inventory, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, and supporting production and service teams.
We’re seeking someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience in a similar stores or warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day stores operations, including goods in, goods out, and stock control.
* Receive, inspect, and book in deliveries accurately into the SAP system.
* Maintain up-to-date stock records and carry out regular cycle counts/stock checks.
* Pick, pack, and issue materials and components to production and service teams.
* Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring correct packaging and documentation.
* Operate forklift trucks safely to move and organise stock.
* Ensure the stores area is maintained to a high standard of safety and efficiency.
* Liaise with suppliers, couriers, and internal departments regarding deliveries and stock levels.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory control role.
* Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system is essential.
* Desirable - Valid forklift licence (counterbalance or reach).
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
