Stores Coordinator
Reports to: Business Support Manager
Responsible for: Drivers and facilities management
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week

The Role
The Stores Coordinator will be responsible for supervising all activities relating to the collection, delivery, and issue of stores materials, as well as stock maintenance, purchase orders, and goods receiving. The role ensures surplus materials are returned and processed correctly, while providing essential logistics support across all divisions.
A key part of this position is co-ordinating and managing the driver team to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient delivery and collection of materials to and from depots, sites, and suppliers, maintaining the highest standards of safety and site tidiness.
Scope & Responsibilities
Act as the day-to-day point of contact for managing the driver team.
Manage the transportation of supplies and materials to multiple destinations across the operational region.
Report potential vehicle or mechanical issues to the relevant manager.
Operate forklifts safely and compliantly.
Safely load and unload vehicles.
Conduct efficient stocktakes and manage inventory control.
Uncrate shipments and store supplies appropriately in the storeroom or warehouse.
Collect requisitioned items from storeroom inventories or external suppliers to fulfil orders.
Monitor material returns to maximise savings.
Verify requisitions, invoices, and shipments for accuracy, ensuring all related documentation is completed.
Prepare and assemble material orders, requisitions, and plot packs as required.
Monitor site progress to determine supply requirements.
Oversee all incoming and outgoing deliveries to ensure accuracy, minimising re-deliveries and damaged goods.
Ensure correct handling and documentation of returned asbestos materials in line with procedures.
Act as office First Aider and Fire Marshall.
Serve as the main point of contact for facilities management and office maintenance, supporting the Office Manager and Coordinator as required.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by the line manager.
Education & Qualifications
Essential
Full driving licence including forklift licence.
GCSE-level education (or equivalent).
Computer literate.
Desirable
Manual Handling certification.
First Aider qualification.
CSCS card holder.
Fire Marshall training.
Non-licensed Asbestos Awareness and Removal training.
Experience & Skills
Experience
Background in logistics, trade, or builder’s merchants is advantageous.
Physically and mentally fit, with the ability to work at height and carry out prolonged periods of physical work.
Proven ability to organise, prioritise, and meet changing deadlines.
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication skills with an approachable and supportive attitude.
Flexible, adaptable, and customer-focused.
Attention to detail with accurate paperwork and reporting skills.
Good working knowledge of vehicle weights, loading practices, and hazardous waste carriage.
Awareness of site safety and competence in setting up and managing site compounds.
Confidence to suggest improvements in service delivery.
Team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
Key Attributes
Knowledge of operating and maintaining light delivery vehicles.
Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.
Physically capable of performing manual labour.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Competent in completing logs, forms, and documentation accurately.
Strong IT literacy.
