Job Description

We’re hiring for a Stores Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Salford.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the stores function, managing stock, leading a small team, and ensuring materials flow efficiently between goods in, production, and dispatch.

What will you be doing as a Stores Manager?

  * Managing day-to-day stores and inventory operations across the site

  * Overseeing goods in, stock control, picking, packing and dispatch

  * Ensuring accurate stock levels, traceability and inventory records

  * Leading and supporting a small stores/warehouse team

  * Coordinating materials for production and spare parts orders

  * Carrying out stock checks, cycle counts and stocktakes

  * Investigating discrepancies and improving stock accuracy processes

  * Working closely with production and procurement teams

  * Improving stores layout, workflows and material handling processes

  * Maintaining health & safety and housekeeping standards

What will you need?

  * Previous experience in a Stores Manager, Inventory Manager or Warehouse Manager role

  * Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  * Experience managing a stores or warehouse team

  * Good understanding of stock control, inventory systems and processes

  * Confident using ERP/MRP systems and Excel

  * FLT licence (or willingness to obtain)
