Stores Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Stores Supervisor (Manufacturing) on behalf of our client based in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced stores professional to join a busy manufacturing environment and take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and organisation of the stores function.
Main Purpose of the Role
To oversee the day-to-day operation of the stores function, ensuring stock is accurately recorded, materials are available when required and goods are received, stored and distributed efficiently.
The successful candidate will need to be confident, organised and hands-on, with the ability to take ownership of the stores function and be authoritative when required. The role will involve working closely with production, purchasing and management to ensure materials and stock are available to support operational requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day running and organisation of the stores function.
* Maintain accurate inventory and stock records within company systems.
* Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.
* Ensure materials and components are available to support production schedules.
* Process goods received documentation and update stock systems.
* Carry out regular stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
* Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries, outstanding orders and stock requirements.
* Work closely with production and purchasing teams to ensure material availability.
* Support production planning and scheduling activities where required.
* Produce stock and operational reports for management.
* Assist with purchasing administration and supplier communications.
Additional Responsibilities
* Take ownership of stock accuracy and stores procedures.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist with operational reporting and KPI tracking.
* Provide guidance and direction within the stores function when required.
* Support other departments during busy periods.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
* Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management.
* Confident using stock control, ERP or MRP systems.
* Good Microsoft Excel and administration skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
* Confident and assertive approach with the ability to take ownership.
* Hands-on approach with a willingness to support the wider operation when required.
Working Pattern & Benefits
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum
