Job Description
Adept Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of their client for an experienced and reliable Straightener to join a well established industrial manufacturing environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong material handling, crane operation or straightening experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work while supporting key heat treatment processes.
Basic salary: £31,296.42
Shift allowance: +30%
Total annual earnings: £40,650.25
Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off
2 × 12-hour day shifts
followed by 2 × 12-hour night shifts
The Role
Within this role will be responsible for the straightening of material using established methods and procedures, as well as supporting the charging process for Heat Treatment. This is a hands-on, physically active role that plays an essential part in ensuring product quality and process flow.
Key Responsibilities
Operate straightening equipment in line with work instructions.
Load and unload material safely and efficiently.
Set up and adjust equipment as required.
Follow accepted procedures and perform checks to maintain straightening standards.
Carry out receipt inspections.
Operate band saws, cranes, FLTs, and sideloaders.
Maintain high levels of housekeeping and generate STOP cards.
Support improvement activities such as problem-solving, method improvements and 5S.
Actively participate in team meetings.
Skills & Experience
Desirable:
5 GCSEs A-C, or relevant industrial experience in place of formal qualifications.
Experience operating overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
Proven involvement in improvement activities.
Strong understanding of safety and quality requirements.
Ability to apply training effectively.

Excellent personal discipline and adherence to standards.
