Job Description

Our client, is currently seeking an Interim Strategic Lead in Traffic & Transportation to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role will focus on network, traffic, and transport management within the Greater Lincolnshire area. Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Lead to oversee the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all traffic and transport initiatives. This role involves leading the development of the Local Transport Plan strategy, collaborating with the Greater Lincolnshire Mayoral Combined Authority, and securing investment to achieve outcomes aligned with the Council's goals. Your expertise will enhance network activities, improve accessibility, and ensure sustainable practices. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including Councillors, local communities, and contractors, to identify key areas for enhancement. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional passionate about improvement and ready to lead transformative projects. Main Responsibilities: Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver services in street works, traffic, road safety, and transport Provide leadership and support to ensure a community-based approach, improving elected member and community satisfaction Respond to and report on complex traffic and transport issues, offering expert advice within budgetary and legislative constraints Focus on community needs, prioritising and commissioning delivery to ensure contract compliance and value for money Develop strategic relationships with partners, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Maximise business opportunities through convincing business cases and support teams to achieve efficiency savings Develop innovative solutions for decarbonisation and sustainable transport Collaborate with the Greater Lincolnshire Mayoral Combined Authority to leverage opportunities Identify, evaluate, and develop external funding opportunities and innovative work practices Champion a safety-first approach for all staff and work sites Job Requirements: Proven experience in traffic and transportation management Strong understanding of strategic planning and policy development in the highways sector Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to build relationships and facilitate discussions with various stakeholders Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams Knowledge of sustainable transport practices and strategies for decarbonisation Excellent report writing and presentation skills Commitment to the Council's values: Valuing People, Honesty, Striving for Continuous Improvement, Openness, Commitment, and Behaving with Integrity If you are a motivated professional with experience in traffic and transportation management and are ready for an exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you
