Street Cleansing Operative
Location: Telford Street, Newport, NP19 0ES
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 12.85 per hour

Responsibilities
Complete daily street cleansing tasks as per contract specifications and route schedules.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including wearing Council-issued uniforms and protective clothing.
Take reasonable care of personal and others' safety; cooperate with managers/supervisors in complying with statutory health and safety duties.
Report incidents, accidents, and faults promptly.
Attend training courses as instructed.
Undertake street cleansing duties as directed by supervisors.
Person Specification
Knowledge of the Newport area is essential.
Experience in working within a public sector environment is desirable.
Ability to work on own initiative and as a good team player.
Capable of working to targets and deadlines.
Ability to identify priorities and manage own work progress and competing demands.
Good customer care skills.
Commitment to personal performance improvement and development.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Enthusiasm and interest in serving the public.
Self-motivated with a confident, positive attitude.
Possession of a full UK driving licence is desirable.
Stamina to undertake considerable walking, bending, lifting, and carrying duties.
Able to work a rostered shift pattern, including weekends, Bank Holidays, and Extra Statutory days.
Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
