Lighting Engineer
Location: Guildford
Salary: PB5 – £38,190 to £43,240
Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)
About the Role:
Morson Talent is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a key national infrastructure organisation for a Lighting Engineer to join their Operational Delivery team based in Guildford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the management and improvement of lighting assets across the East and North West regions.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of feasibility studies and early-stage designs for street lighting, illuminated signage, and related electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with technical standards and driving innovation in design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate asset data to identify needs and inform early solution development.
Prepare briefs and support the delivery of survey works and inspections.
Develop technical briefs for use by external design contractors.
Design renewal and maintenance schemes for lighting and electrical assets.
Ensure safety and wellbeing considerations are embedded throughout project planning and execution.
Requirements:
Degree, HND or HNC in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Practical experience in highway construction and delivery.
Experience in managing, inspecting, and designing electrical renewal schemes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and cable calculation software.
Good understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points (essential for the role).

Additional Information:
External applicants are normally appointed at the lower end of the salary scale.
