You’ll take ownership of structural analysis activities—ensuring designs are robust, compliant, and delivered to quality, time, and budget.
What you’ll do
* Perform stress and structural analysis (hand calcs + FEA where needed)
* Work closely with design engineers to solve real-world engineering problems
* Produce and check design substantiation reports
* Act as the technical authority for analysis, including subcontractor work
* Influence designs early to improve manufacturability, cost, and performance
* Support planning, mentoring, and continuous improvement of analysis methods
What we’re looking for
* Strong experience in stress analysis & hand calculations (Mathcad)
* Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. Eurocodes / lifting or structural codes)
* Background in a highly regulated environment (nuclear, defence, etc.)
* Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran or similar)
* Ability to interrogate designs and define load cases (static, dynamic, fatigue)
