Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Technical Engineer to join a market-leading global building envelope manufacturer. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, offering exposure to innovative, sustainable, and technically complex projects.
You’ll play a key role in supporting customers and internal stakeholders with structural design solutions for bespoke building systems, ensuring designs are accurate, compliant, and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and substantiate structural designs in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
Interpret architects’ and engineers’ drawings to develop practical, economical design solutions.
Provide technical advice to clients, specifiers, and internal teams via phone, email, or video.
Prepare design calculations, drawings, and bills of materials for project proposals.
Support digital design development and help improve design tools and software processes.
Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001).
Deliver technical presentations on product performance, system design, and project-specific solutions.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Strong analytical and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Knowledge of the construction industry and building techniques.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a structural engineering or related role.
Experience with AutoCAD, 3D modelling, or cold-formed section design.
Background in industrial building or structural steel design.
