We’re working with a respected charity partner to recruit an Experienced Social Worker for a 30-hour per week fixed-term position within a specialist service based in South East London. This is an opportunity to join a team delivering targeted support to individuals with multiple and complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, safeguarding concerns, and social care involvement.

Key Details:
Location: South East London
Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary: £37,184.90 – £44,471.72 (pro rata, depending on experience)
Additional Allowance: Inner London weighting (pro rata)
Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31st March 2026
Role Overview:
As a senior practitioner in the team, you will support the management of complex cases and provide specialist input on safeguarding, domestic abuse, self-neglect, and multi-agency coordination. You’ll also mentor and develop team members, contribute to reflective practice, and support service development initiatives.
Main responsibilities:
Hold a small, focused caseload of service users with complex needs
Provide specialist advice on risk, safeguarding (adults and children), and multi-agency liaison
Deliver workshops, learning sessions, and reflective supervision for team members
Develop strong partnerships with local social care and statutory agencies
Contribute to training and support for student social workers and those completing their ASYE
Maintain high standards in case recording, reporting, and information sharing
Candidate Requirements:
Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
Strong safeguarding experience (across adults and/or children’s services)
Proven experience working with complex and high-risk caseloads
Knowledge of substance misuse, mental health, and domestic abuse
Confident in delivering supervision, coaching, or training
Collaborative, reflective, and strong on communication
