Night Shift Supervisor
Colchester, Essex – Temp to Perm Opportunity
Our client, a leading food processing company based in Colchester, Essex, is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor to take on a key role in ensuring smooth production operations and supporting a dedicated workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and coordinate production line operations within the packhouse.
* Ensure all team members are appropriately trained (both new and existing staff).
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and daily cleaning protocols.
* Monitor production performance and report to the Packhouse Manager.
* Complete and review all documentation accurately; identify additional training needs.
* Conduct competency assessments and documentation reviews.
* Uphold quality assurance standards to meet customer requirements.
* Provide hands-on support on the shop floor, assisting with training and compliance.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) are followed.
* Communicate effectively with all departments.
* Identify and recommend staff for promotion.
* Actively participate in meetings (H&S, Food Safety, Quality, Production Efficiency, etc.).
* Suggest and support process and system improvements.
* Follow all Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Assist with audits and production projects as required.
Shift Pattern:
* Monday – Thursday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
* One hour of breaks per shift (30 minutes paid, 30 minutes unpaid).
* Optional extra weekend shift (Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM) paid at overtime rate.
Pay & Benefits:
* Basic pay: £17.10 per hour
* Overtime pay: £21.37 per hour
* Holiday entitlement: 22 days (inclusive of bank holidays)
