Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer | £35,000 - £40,000 | Somerset

Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that supplies specialised equipment to the converting and print industries worldwide.

They are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support a high-volume supply chain environment. The role will focus on improving supplier performance, assessing and approving new suppliers, and providing quality support to purchasing activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supplier management, quality systems, and continuous process improvement.

The Role:

  * Conducting supplier visits and performing quality audits

  * Managing the qualification and approval of new suppliers

  * Raising and processing purchase orders through an ERP system

  * Investigating, managing, and closing supplier non-conformances

  * Identifying and evaluating potential new suppliers

Key Skills and Experience:

  * HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field

  * A minimum of three years’ practical experience using ERP systems, with a strong understanding of warehouse, materials management, and planning functions

  * Proven experience working with supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and vendor management practices

  * At least three years’ experience in continuous improvement or process improvement activities
