Job Description

Are you passionate about supplier quality, manufacturing excellence, and driving continuous improvement? We are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in ensuring supplier performance, compliance, and product quality across the supply chain. The Role As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead supplier qualification, auditing, and performance improvement activities to ensure suppliers meet high standards for quality, safety, and delivery. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Production teams while building strong relationships with suppliers across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities Supplier Qualification & Auditing * Lead and execute supplier audits including initial, process, and surveillance audits. * Assess suppliers against ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) requirements. * Qualify and onboard new suppliers through structured capability assessments. * Monitor supplier approvals, certifications, and ongoing compliance. Supplier Development & Performance Management * Identify opportunities to improve supplier quality, delivery, and manufacturing capability. * Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and related quality tools. * Support supplier recovery and performance improvement plans Technical Quality Support * Review supplier documentation including weld procedures, inspection reports, material certificates, and quality plans. * Support introduction and validation of new or modified components and assemblies. * Participate in PPAP, FAIR, and product approval processes. * Ensure compliance with pressure vessel and safety regulations. Continuous Improvement * Promote lean manufacturing, defect reduction, and first-time-right culture within the supply base. * Contribute to cross-functional improvement projects focused on quality, cost reduction, and operational readiness. What We’re Looking For Essential * Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering/Management, or related discipline. * Significant experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer role within manufacturing, HVAC, or engineered products. * Strong auditing experience with knowledge of: * ISO 9001 * ISO 3834 * Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) * Technical understanding of fabrication, welding, CNC machining, assembly, and inspection methods. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Full UK Driving Licence. * Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and occasionally Europe (approximately 60%).
