Job Description
Role: Supplier Quality Engineer / Specialist
Location: Home based (travel across South coast)
Duration: 6 Months
Introduction:
The role will be working with key suppliers in the UK. Travel to and from suppliers on the south coast. This is a virtual (home office) position.
Responsibilities:
Product verification and in-process inspections.
Review of First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) review and acceptance.
Creating and presenting metrics and performance data.
Liaison with Program and Engineering.
Preferred skills and experience:
Reporting to the UK Team Lead, the successful candidate will have a background in quality/inspection, be able to understand and interpret 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings, production paperwork and manufacturing specifications.
Experience in the manufacture of composite, machined and fabricated parts and assemblies and knowledge of the installation of electrical/electronic line replaceable units (LRU), experience on wire looms and fuel systems would be an advantage.
Experience in the review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to the AS9102 standard, be able to articulate non-compliance/conformities to the document owners and progress through to a compliant resolution.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Computer skills will be required to input data into a number of different on and off-line systems and applications.
