Support Buddy – SEND School | Brighton & Hove | Immediate Start  Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEND school based in the Brighton & Hove area. The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and is looking for enthusiastic Support Buddies to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, proactive and passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs. The Role As a Support Buddy, you will work closely with pupils on either a 1:1 or small-group basis, helping them to engage with their learning, develop their confidence and feel supported throughout the school day. Your role will involve building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and working alongside teachers and other support staff to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment. The school are looking for Support Buddies who are: Enthusiastic, patient and compassionate Confident building positive relationships with pupils Strong and positive role models Proactive and willing to use their initiative Experienced in supporting children or young people with SEND/PMLD Comfortable supporting pupils with communication and interaction Passionate about helping children reach their individual potential Able to work effectively as part of a supportive school team Role Details Location: Brighton & Hove Start Date: September Pay: £360–£460 per week Availability: Full-Time, Monday–Friday Contract: Temp to Perm Experience: SEND/PMLD experience preferred DBS: Enhanced Child-Only DBS required Travel: Accessible by bus Why Become a Support Buddy? Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Care Worker, Child Practitioner or SEND Support Assistant would be highly beneficial.
