Job Description

We are currently working with a specialist setting supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across both primary and secondary sites. The pupils require adults who are resilient, calm under pressure, and confident working with challenging behaviour. Your role will be to build trust, create meaningful relationships, and help pupils re-engage with learning through creative, hands‑on approaches. Facilities include: A BMX track used for physical regulation, therapy and confidence-building A mechanics car and workshop for vocational learning Flexible indoor and outdoor personalised learning spaces Supportive staff teams across both primary and secondary sites This is not a typical classroom role — it’s varied, hands-on and deeply rewarding. Who We’re Looking For We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. Education experience is helpful, but not essential — what matters most is resilience, emotional intelligence and a willingness to support young people with complex needs. Ideal applicants may come from: Psychology / social sciences Sports coaching, youth work, mentoring Ex‑armed forces, security, or protective services Prison, probation, or residential care Outdoor education, activity leadership, or other practical roles If you can remain calm, de‑escalate challenging situations and build positive relationships, you’ll fit right in.
