Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support young people with autism spectrum condition (ASC) and complex learning needs. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside a supportive team of professionals, helping students to reach their full potential in both their academic and personal development. Your role will include: Supporting pupils in small, structured classes to achieve their learning goals. Using communication aids (such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports) to promote understanding. Assisting with sensory and behaviour support strategies. Encouraging social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence. #INDTA Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to provide a holistic support approach. About You We are seeking individuals who: Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism. Are compassionate, patient, and able to build strong, positive relationships with students. Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Are flexible, positive, and open to learning new strategies and techniques. Hold (or are willing to work towards) a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. We particularly welcome applicants from care, support work, or nursing backgrounds. Your experience in these fields - whether working with vulnerable individuals, providing care, or supporting people with complex needs - will be highly valued and transferable to this important role.
