Location: Chipping, Preston
Are you keen to try Children's Residential homes? Or do you already have experience working with Children? This role is for you.
About the Role
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team at a children’s residential home in Chipping, Preston. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity – giving you the chance to experience the home, the team, and the children before deciding on a permanent commitment.
If you have experience supporting individuals with mental health or learning disabilities and are looking to transfer your skills into working with children, we would love to hear from you.
For those who already have experience working in children’s homes, we are also recruiting for Senior Support Worker and Team Leader positions.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support for children and young people.
*
Promote independence, positive behaviours, and emotional wellbeing.
*
Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
*
Work effectively as part of a team to deliver consistent care and support.
*
Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
*
For waking night roles: ensure the safety and wellbeing of children overnight, responding to any issues calmly and professionally.
Requirements
*
Previous experience in mental health, learning disabilities, or children’s services.
*
Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
*
Commitment, empathy, and resilience to support children with complex needs.
*
For waking night roles – prior experience in a children’s residential home is essential.
*
Flexibility to work shift patterns including evenings, weekends, and nights.
