Support Worker - Bournemouth £13.00 per hour 36 hours per week
We're looking for a compassionate Support Worker to help families create safe, nurturing homes where children can thrive. You'll support parents through holistic assessments and evidence-based interventions, all aimed at achieving meaningful, child-centred outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to families in residential settings
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents to help them feel safe, included, and empowered
Work in partnership with families to promote positive change and strengthen parenting skills
Use trauma-informed approaches to help parents understand and meet their children's needs
Facilitate open, honest discussions that support transparency and build confidence in decision-making
Encourage families to identify and build on their strengths using accessible tools like the 'traffic light system'
Support the development of healthy routines, boundaries, and positive behaviours
Collaborate with professionals and wider support networks to ensure joined-up care
Promote child safety and well-being as central to every intervention
Requirements
Experience in family support and safeguarding
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Familiarity with trauma-informed practices
Commitment to child-focused, therapeutic approaches
