Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join a range of mainstream secondary schools and specialist SEN provisions across the city. These roles involve supporting students aged 11–16, helping them engage positively in their education, and providing essential guidance throughout the school day.
This opportunity is well suited to individuals with backgrounds in support work, residential care, youth services, or those who already have experience working within schools.
About the Role
Provide 1:1 support or small-group interventions tailored to students’ needs.
Work with pupils who may have behavioural, social, emotional, or learning difficulties.
Assist with lesson routines, classroom activities, and general daily school duties.
Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and building confidence.
Candidate Requirements
Experience in support work, care, youth work, or education settings (highly desirable).
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young people.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
Confidence managing challenging situations with professionalism.
A genuine interest in helping students progress both academically and personally.
(Training and ongoing professional development will be provided.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
