Support Worker – Learning Disabilities
Location: Newbury Area
Hours: Full-time or part-time (flexible to meet service needs)
Salary: £12.30–£12.40 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are recruiting Support Workers to provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities living in their own homes. The role focuses on promoting independence, wellbeing and inclusion, enabling individuals to live fulfilling, meaningful lives as valued members of their community.
You will work as part of a supportive team to deliver high-quality care, promote safety, and empower people to develop daily living skills, access social and leisure activities, and build confidence.
This role involves a mixture of practical support, emotional support and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Build warm, trusting, professional relationships

Promote emotional wellbeing, dignity and independence
*
Support with daily living skills, personal safety and community access
*
Encourage people to express their views and make informed choices
*
Respond to individual needs in line with person-centred plans
*
Support with budgeting, benefits and tenancy responsibilities
*
Assist with accessing health appointments and wellbeing activities
*
Contribute to service users’ notes, reviews and support planning
*
Work within agreed protocols to support individuals with complex needs
*
Provide practical support, encouragement and therapeutic engagement
*
Support people who may present challenging behaviours using positive strategies
*
Assist with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and hoists where required
Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

Commitment to training and ongoing development
Desirable:

Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
*
NVQ/Diploma in Health & Social Care
*
Driving licence and access to a car
