Job Description

A forward-thinking Housing Association (not-for-profit organisation) focused on empowering individuals to achieve stability, seeks a compassionate, professional Support Worker, to deliver support and guidance to residents. Joining a dedicated, busy team, the main purpose of the role of Support Worker is to assist residents with their individual needs, helping them gain the confidence and skills necessary to progress towards more permanent accommodation. Ideal candidate would possess experience of working with residents in a social or supported housing environment, from a range of backgrounds, some with complex needs. Offered as a Fixed Term (12 months) contract, the position of Support Worker provides a competitive salary, appealing company benefits and immediate start available. *Candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check. Duties of Support Worker: * Manage resident onboarding/offboarding, completing all necessary documentation * Orient residents to their property and provide essential information * Explain license agreements, highlighting house rules and consequences * Submit online housing benefit applications, ensure license agreements are signed * Maintain internal records with housing benefit references, ID and license agreements * Conduct weekly support sessions with residents * Compile and regularly update individual risk assessments and support plans * Upload all relevant documentation to internal and external systems * Signpost residents to local support services * Respond promptly and appropriately to resident queries * Assist with food bank access and financial budgeting support * Manage expectations regarding housing and tenancy obligations * Address and reduce anti-social behaviour through proactive support * Facilitate life skills workshops (individual or group) * Monitor compliance with service charge requirements * Respond to incidents of anti-social behaviour per policy, including authorised enforcement actions * Conduct health and safety checks in properties and communal areas * Log and report repairs or faults, maintaining accurate records Skills/attributes required by Support Worker: * Previous experience within a similar role within social or supported housing environment * Able to work well within a team and as an individual * Good communication * Commitment to Equality and Diversity across all service areas * Ability to identify opportunities to improve the business efficiency through cost savings, process improvements or service reviews * Health & Safety Awareness and Risk Management Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 Salary: £24,150 p.a. - £28,350 p.a. dependent upon experience Benefits: Pension, Enhanced Holiday Entitlement, Family Friendly Policies, Cycle to Work, Life/Health Insurance and Discount Portal Contract: 12-month Fixed Term contract If you have the skills required to fulfil the role of Support Worker, please APPLY TODAY
