Support Worker | SEN School Setting – North London
Location: North London (N17 & surrounding areas)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Pay: £101.40 – £115 per day (dependent on experience)
At Milk Education, we are working alongside a welcoming and inclusive SEN school that supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD).
We’re looking for a Support Worker who has experience or a genuine interest in working with children or young people with additional needs — someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
This role would be perfect for anyone from a care, residential, or youth work background who’s looking to transition into an educational setting or continue building their experience supporting children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
Assist with personal care and emotional regulation where needed
Help implement tailored learning plans and therapeutic strategies
Promote communication, confidence, and independence in daily school life
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism, SEMH, or complex needs
Be patient, compassionate, and adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills
Be proactive and able to use their initiative to meet pupils’ individual needs
Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and promoting inclusion
Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
