Building Physics Engineer London (Waterloo area) | £35,000 - £45,000 (Dependant on experience) | WFH Post-probation (Flexibility) Overview My client is seeking a talented and motivated Building Physics Engineer to join their dynamic team. Day-to-Day Your typical day as a Building Physics Engineer may include: Running energy and thermal performance simulations to evaluate building designs. Collaborating with architects and engineers to optimize building performance. Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. Reviewing project designs to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations. Contributing to BREEAM assessments, including gathering evidence and supporting documentation. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in building performance and sustainability. Responsibilities As a Building Physics Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: Conducting building physics analysis, including energy modelling, thermal performance, and daylight assessments. Supporting design teams with performance-driven strategies to enhance building efficiency and occupant comfort. Utilizing simulation tools to inform early-stage and detailed design decisions. Providing input into BREEAM assessments, ensuring designs align with required credits and sustainability goals. Collaborating with engineers, architects, and clients across a variety of projects to deliver high-quality outcomes. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following: A strong background in building physics, environmental engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in building performance modelling using tools such as IES, TAS, Rhino, DesignBuilder etc. A solid understanding of UK building regulations and energy compliance requirements. Awareness of BREEAM, with either hands-on project experience or strong theoretical knowledge. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate technical data effectively. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.Desirable (but not essential): Experience contributing to BREEAM assessments. BREEAM Assessor qualification.
