Job Description

The Sustainability Operations Analyst will serve as the central operational hub for the Sustainability team, playing a key role in managing project workflows and optimizing resource allocation to ensure consultants and analysts are utilised efficiently and projects stay on schedule. This includes directly supporting the analyst team in the efficient handling, processing, and quality assurance of technical data required for client reports. The role will involve managing client communications, responding to specific queries, and supporting the preparation of essential documentation, reports, updates, and tracking materials. During peak periods, the Coordinator will provide ad-hoc operational and administrative support to the team to maintain momentum and output. The successful candidate must be ready to grow and develop alongside the team as we transition to meet ambitious future expansion goals. Key Responsibilities 1. Project & Resource Coordination (Core Focus) * Coordinate the daily workflow of the Sustainability team, efficiently allocating tasks between Consultants and Analysts to maximise utilisation. * Monitor project progress against timelines, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays to ensure projects remain on track and deliverables are met. 2. Analyst Team Support & Data Integrity * Act as the primary support contact for the Analyst team, assisting with the initial processing, formatting, and organisation of complex data sets (e.g., energy consumption, emissions data). * Support the quality assurance (QA) process by tracking data inputs and outputs to help maintain the integrity and consistency of technical data before it is used for reporting. * Ensure Analysts have the necessary templates, tools, and organized client information required to execute their technical analysis efficiently. 3. Client & Stakeholder Management * Serve as a key liaison for client communication, tracking and responding to client-specific queries in a timely and professional manner. * Manage expectations of multiple internal stakeholders (Consultants, Analysts, Management) to ensure alignment on project priorities and deadlines. 4. Documentation & Reporting Support * Assist in the preparation, formatting, and quality review of external reports, client-facing documentation, project updates, and tracking logs. * Support the team with data management, reporting, and administrative tasks, especially during peak workload periods. 5. Development & Growth * Commit to continuous personal and professional development, embracing new skills and concepts as the team rapidly scales to meet ambitious growth targets. Qualifications/Training Essential: Degree qualified OR a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar project coordination or support role. Desirable: Formal training or practical experience in Data Analysis/Monitoring principles. Experience Essential: * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data handling and reporting (must be confident in using and developing skills in the program). * Proven experience in data analysis, including practical knowledge of formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting). * Demonstrated interest in the Energy, Sustainability, and Climate Change Industry (E, S, or C). Desirable: * Advanced Excel skills, including VBA or Database experience (e.g., SQL, Access). * Experience of typical MS software packages beyond Excel (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint). * Experience with calculations using emissions factors (e.g., Scope 1, 2, 3 data). * Experience in validation and cleaning of complex data sets. * Direct Consultancy or Intermediary experience (industrial, commercial, or SME sectors).
