Systems Integration Engineer
📍 Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
📅 Contract: 12-Month Contract
💷 Rate: £35.79 per hour (Umbrella)
We are currently recruiting for a Systems Integration Engineer to support the development of next-generation automotive vehicle platforms. Working within a Central Systems Integration environment, you will play a key role in diagnosing, investigating, and driving the resolution of complex software and systems issues during vehicle development. This position sits at the heart of software integration activities, coordinating across multiple engineering teams to identify root causes, define ownership, and support issue resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in systems integration, software issues management, and root cause analysis within a complex engineering or automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the investigation and diagnosis of software and systems-related issues.
Assess and determine the urgency and priority of issues during initial investigation stages.
Gather and analyse technical data to support effective root cause identification.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of information captured within issue management and triage processes.
Support the maintenance and readiness of key testing assets and environments.
Assist with testing and validation of complex vehicle systems and software concerns.
Work collaboratively with engineering, programme, and project teams to ensure issues are understood, prioritised, and resolved effectively.
Facilitate issue review meetings, ensuring clear ownership, actions, and follow-up activities.
Maintain issue registers and tracking systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Develop and communicate metrics, KPIs, and status reports to support programme visibility.
Identify process improvements and highlight areas requiring additional support or intervention.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of issue and defect management processes and tools.
Proven experience using root cause analysis techniques and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Solid understanding of software integration principles and system dependencies.
Experience developing, interpreting, and presenting KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead discussions around complex technical issues.
High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to processes and documentation.
Ability to identify risks, gaps, and areas requiring support or escalation.
Experience maintaining issue registers and tracking systems with accuracy and rigour.
Ability to facilitate regular issue review meetings and drive actions to completion.
Experience working within structured project governance environments, including programme and PMO frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.Desirable Experience
Experience within the automotive industry or other complex engineering environments.
Knowledge of vehicle systems, ECU integration, or software delivery programmes.
Experience supporting system integration testing and validation activities.
Understanding of software development lifecycles and release management processes.
