Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £200 - £225 Per day
Contract Length: 6-Months (T2P)
Our client, a leading name in UK rail, is looking for a seasoned Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead a significant ramp up of engineering and operations recruitment in 2026. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for an experienced recruiter who thrives in fast-paced, people-first environments.
The Role
Based at the Manchester HQ with hybrid working, you’ll take full ownership of recruitment across a wide range of technical, professional, and leadership roles — partnering with hiring managers, managing your own diary, and delivering results without micromanagement, all while working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver against resourcing and headcount plans across multiple UK sites and functions
• Own the end-to-end recruitment process from briefing through to onboarding handover
• Partner with hiring managers to define requirements and shape sourcing strategies
• Manage relationships with external recruitment partners and talent pipelines
• Support international recruitment and relocation processes where required
• Provide market insight and workforce planning support to senior stakeholders
• Represent the business at assessments, interviews, and hiring events across the UK
• Contribute to early talent initiatives and partnerships with academic institutions
Candidate Requirements
•Minimum 6 years’ experience in recruitment — either in-house or as an agency account manager
• Proven track record of delivering high-volume and specialist recruitment campaigns
• Strong understanding of the UK labour market and experience hiring across multiple sites
• Confident working with senior stakeholders across technical and operational functions
• Familiarity with international mobility and relocation processes
• Comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering at pace
• Passion for innovation in recruitment technology and DEI strategies
• CIPD or similar professional qualification (desirable)
• A collaborative, hands-on approach with a focus on outcomes over hours
