Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Group Tax Assistant to join a leading multi-channel business with a strong national footprint and ambitious growth plans. Based at their office in Sheffield, this role sits within the Group Finance Team and offers a broad remit across UK and international tax compliance, reporting, and strategic projects.
Responsibilities:
Act as the go-to technical expert for tax matters across the group
Prepare and submit UK Corporate Tax and VAT returns
Support Irish and EU VAT and corporate submissions
Monitor legislative changes and recommend efficient tax structures
Lead on tax risk identification and mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with VAT rules
Contribute to strategic projects including M&A, restructuring, and financing
Oversee SAO processes and support best practice development
Experience required:
Part Qualified or Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA, CTA, ATT)
Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU tax legislation
Experience managing tax compliance and risk in a complex business
Excellent Excel and communication skills
Ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to non-specialists
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong project management skillsBefore You Apply
