The Role
Class Mate are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon. This full-time position involves supporting pupils with ASD and ADHD, working closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support and ensure every child can access learning and thrive.
Responsibilities
*
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD
*
Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs to meet individual needs
*
Use patience, empathy, and consistency to manage behaviour positively
*
Support with social, emotional, and communication development
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
*
Help to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Requirements
*
Previous experience working with children with ASD and/or ADHD
*
Knowledge of strategies such as visual timetables, sensory aids, and positive behaviour management
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships
*
A proactive, resilient, and compassionate approach
*
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training) desirable but not essential
