Teacher – Specialist School
Location: High Wycombe
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-Term (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
We are working with a welcoming and forward-thinking SEN school in High Wycombe that supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, sensory processing differences, and complex learning needs. They are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to step into an unqualified teaching role from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience—such as a senior TA or HLTA—who is looking to take the next step in their career. Full support and training will be provided, and for the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become permanent and progress into a qualified teaching route.
The Role
As an Unqualified SEN Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver structured learning activities with guidance from senior staff
*
Lead a class of pupils with support from experienced teaching assistants
*
Adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils
*
Use a range of communication tools and strategies, including visuals, PECS, and sensory-based approaches
*
Manage behaviour positively and effectively, with support from the wider team
*
Maintain a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
*
Work closely with therapists, families and other professionals involved in pupils’ development
What We’re Looking For
*
Experience working in an SEN setting, ideally in a senior TA or HLTA capacity
*
Confidence leading small groups or classes
*
A solid understanding of autism and other additional needs
*
A proactive, resilient and adaptable mindset
*
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex needs
