SEN Teacher – Special Educational Needs Location: Ware, Hertfordshire, Full-Time Qualified Teacher Hours: 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the School We are working with an outstanding SEN school in Ware, Hertfordshire that supports students aged 11–16 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The school provides a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive. Key Responsibilities As a Special Educational Needs Teacher (SEN Teacher), you will: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Support pupils’ academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing. Use a range of SEN teaching strategies, behaviour management, and assistive technology. Provide ongoing assessment, monitoring, and feedback in line with school policies. Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment. Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary teams. Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil progress. Person Specification We are looking for a passionate and committed SEN Teacher who has: QTS / QTLS or recognised teaching qualification. Must drive or be willing to travel to ware  GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent. Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND). Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach. Excellent communication and ICT skills. A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.  Safer Recruitment Applicants must be willing to undergo: Enhanced DBS check (Update Service – support available).
