About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher with a specialism in Resistant Materials and Product Design to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Watford.
The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 DT, delivering inspiring practical and theory lessons that foster creativity, independence, and strong academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons across the KS3/KS4 Resistant Materials and Product Design curriculum
*
Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures
*
Plan, assess, and track pupil progress effectively
*
Contribute to curriculum development within the DT department
*
Support wider school initiatives and encourage student engagement beyond the classroom
*
Uphold high expectations for learning, creativity, and behaviour
Requirements:
*
QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
*
Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and Product Design
*
Experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4
*
Ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students of all abilities
*
Excellent communication and classroom/workshop management skills
