We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Birmingham seeking a dedicated History specialist to join their Humanities department. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity — perfect for someone who wants to inspire young minds and build a long-term career in a supportive school environment.
The Role:
Teach History across KS3 and KS4, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that bring the past to life.
Plan and assess in line with departmental and exam board requirements.
Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and analytical skills among students.
Contribute to the development of a dynamic and inclusive Humanities curriculum.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and raise standards across the department.
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS / QTLS (or is working towards qualification)
Has experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History
Is confident managing classroom behaviour and supporting a range of learning needs
Is professional, reflective, and eager to make a positive contribution to school life
