The Role – Teacher of the Deaf
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Teacher of the Deaf to join a forward-thinking primary school in Islington from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role ideal for someone who is committed to improving access to learning and communication for pupils with hearing impairments.
You will be working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and specialist staff to adapt and deliver the curriculum using a Total Communication approach, including British Sign Language (BSL), speech, and visual aids. Your role will involve both one-to-one support and small group interventions, ensuring that all pupils feel empowered and included in their learning journey.
