Job Description

If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. Your new company Hays Education are supporting a primary school in Huyton, Knowsley looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team for the full academic year. This full-time Teaching Assistant job will involve supporting a child going through the diagnosis process who is displaying challenging behaviour within the classroom. Your new role Working with the class teacher and another class TA, you will be responsible for providing support for a student in Year 4. Working closely with the class teacher, you will plan and deliver daily activities to help access learning both in and outside the classroom. The school has sensory rooms and outdoor spaces that you can utilise as needed to support the student with regulation and find ways for learning to take place. This job is full time, 8.30-3.30, Monday-Friday during term time. What you'll need to succeed A Teaching Assistant qualification would be an advantage for this role, but the school will also consider applications from people with experience of working with school-age children or adults with SEND and behavioural needs. You will be patient and calm, with experience in de-escalation strategies. You will have excellent communication, and work with school staff and parents to provide the best care for the student.
