Primary Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £89.38 per day (dependant on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a primary school setting? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Newport area.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, supporting pupils both in groups and on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to classroom support.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
Provide individualised support to pupils who require additional assistance.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Assist with the delivery of targeted interventions and small group activities.
Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
Requirements:
Experience working with children (in a school, nursery, or youth setting preferred).
A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.
