Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Location: LE8, Leicestershire
Pay: £90-£100 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Long-Term with to permanent
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to flourish?
A welcoming, specialist all-through school (ages 4-16) in Leicestershire is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join the team and make a genuine difference.
In this role you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist in implementing positive behaviour strategies to promote emotional regulation, resilience and engagement in learning
Help to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment
Support students to build independence, life-skills and confidence
Develop meaningful relationships with students and staff
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN (desirable but not essential)
Is patient, resilient and proactive
Has excellent communication skills and can build strong rapport with both students and staff
Is passionate about making a positive difference, thrives on variety and adapts flexibly to changing needs
Wants to commit to a long-term role and grow within a specialist SEMH environment
