The Role:
We are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to provide in-class and small group support at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will work closely with teachers to enhance learning experiences, assist with lesson preparation, and help manage classroom dynamics. This role offers valuable experience for individuals considering a future in teaching and could lead to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in lessons, both in-class and through targeted interventions.
Assist in planning and preparing resources for lessons under teacher guidance.
Help track and monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who may need additional help.
Uphold the school’s policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusion.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and pupils as required.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
Experience: Prior experience working with secondary school-aged children in an educational setting (e.g., school, tutoring, or youth work).
Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Skills: Strong communication and organisational skills, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Training: Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies.
All applicants must hold a valid Right to Work in the UK, which will be verified as part of our safeguarding and compliance process.
DBS: All applicants must undergo an Enhanced DBS Check (Child Workforce) prior to starting work, unless already registered on the Update Service. The cost of a new DBS will be covered by the applicant.
