The Role
Veritas Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hackney. The school is seeking an adaptable and enthusiastic individual who is confident supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils who have additional needs such as autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language delays, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to ensure all pupils can access learning and make meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning activities.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all pupils feel valued.
Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in learners.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents.The Ideal Candidate
Confident and experienced in supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
Patient, empathetic, and resilient in approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
