The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with KS3 and KS4 pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement and confidence. You will support them in accessing learning, developing key skills and building resilience through relational and therapeutic approaches.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
*
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated, engaging and inclusive lessons
*
Help with literacy, numeracy, communication and emotional regulation tasks
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
*
Promote a safe, calm and predictable learning environment
*
Encourage resilience, independence and positive behaviour
*
Support behaviour and wellbeing plans
*
Create or adapt learning resources
*
Assist with pastoral activities, interventions and enrichment
*
Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral staff
*
Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
*
Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals
*
Passionate about SEMH and inclusive education
*
Able to stay calm, patient and supportive during challenging moments
*
Understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches (training provided)
*
Good communication and teamwork skills
*
GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
*
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
Desirable:
*
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification
*
SEMH, SEND or alternative provision experience
*
Behaviour support experience
