Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the M30 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
The school caters for pupils aged 8-16 years with a range of SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning requirements. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide both academic and emotional support, helping pupils to re-engage with their learning and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Work as a Teaching Assistant across KS2-KS4, supporting pupils aged 8-16.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and social development.
Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and resilience.
Support classroom routines and provide structure as a reliable Teaching Assistant.
Adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to deliver consistent approaches.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop life and learning skills.Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provisions is desirable.
Strong behaviour management skills and resilience.
Ability to build trust and motivate pupils with challenging behaviours.
Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting young people.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
