Are you calm, resilient, and passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our supportive and forward-thinking SEMH secondary school. You will work with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (ages 11-16) who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or present with SEMH as their primary need.
Key responsibilities:
Support students 1:1 and in small groups both inside and outside the classroom
Help implement individual behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
Promote positive relationships and emotional regulation using a trauma-informed approach
Assist with the delivery of a broad KS3/KS4 curriculum and vocational pathways
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure the best outcomes
Contribute to a nurturing, predictable, and safe learning environmentAbout you:
Experience of working with young people with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, attachment difficulties, or trauma (essential)
Team Teach, PRICE, or other positive handling training (desirable - training provided if needed)
Resilience, patience, and a good sense of humour
Strong literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in English and Maths)
