Teaching Assistant – PMLD Specialist School (Kirkby)

As a Teaching Assistant here, you will work closely with students who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), ensuring they have a safe and stimulating environment. This Teaching Assistant role is vital to our classroom success, and because we value flexibility, we have both day-to-day and long-term positions available to suit your lifestyle. Every Teaching Assistant in our building is a pillar of the community, helping our students navigate their daily sensory and educational journeys.

The Role & What We Offer

    Flexibility: We offer both short-term "supply" shifts and stable long-term placements depending on your preference.

What We Are Looking For

  * 

    Experience: Previous experience with PMLD, SLD, or complex medical needs is highly desirable.

  * 

    Attitude: A "willingness to learn" is just as important as a CV. If you are patient, proactive, and empathetic, we can provide the training.

  * 

    Skills: Knowledge of Moving & Handling, PEG feeding, or Makaton is a plus, but not essential for the right candidate.

  * 

    Requirements: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
