We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to support a child on a 1:1 basis within the Foundation Phase. This role involves providing tailored learning support, assisting with day-to-day classroom activities, and helping the pupil thrive in a structured environment. While experience with additional learning needs is desirable, it is not essential. Confidence, initiative, and the ability to build positive relationships are key.
There may also be opportunities to support small groups of pupils with literacy and numeracy interventions, as well as assist with general classroom duties. The role may involve managing occasional challenging behaviour, so resilience and a proactive attitude are important.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
Assist with small group intervention work in literacy and numeracy
Support the class teacher with general classroom activities
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
About the School:
This friendly and inclusive primary school is looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school has a diverse pupil population, including children with English as an Additional Language (EAL). Ongoing support and feedback will be provided, with the potential for the role to become permanent until the end of the academic year.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS (Child Only) – required before starting (support provided by Teaching Personnel)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (mandatory in Wales)
Experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
