Job Description

1:1 Teaching Assistant Upper Key Stage 2 - Stafford - Start Date: As soon as possible.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, nurturing and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant who will be supporting a Year 6 child on a temporary, part-time basis until the end of the academic year. Your input will be vital in ensuring that the child receives the best levels of care and support during a final busy period of the school year. Your duties will include; supporting a pupil with day-to-day learning, tailoring learning and activities to be taught in a way in which the pupil can access their learning in a way which works for them.

The school you will looking to support are a very small, church school on the outskirts of Stafford. You will receive support from all of the staff within the school particularly the SENCO who you will be liaising with on a regular basis. You will be working within a mixed Year 5 and Year 6 class, occasional support to the rest of the class may be necessary. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you must have a flexible approach to work as your role will vary day-to-day to accommodate to the needs of the child. You must have a kind and passionate approach when supporting a pupil with additional needs. It is vital that at all time you hold a high standard of professional conduct.

The part time hours for this role are Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 15:30pm

Working for a reputable education agency - Academics Ltd.
Confidence in supporting a child in Upper Key Stage 2.
A positive and 'can-do' approach to school life and education.
Deliver and adapt activities to support the child as necessary with day-to-day learning.
The ability to use 'praise culture' to assist & encourage pupils.
Commute to Stafford daily working in a small Church school.
Working collaboratively with staff and parents is essential.
Flexibility to adapt quickly to the new setting on a temporary basis, this is crucial.We are looking for someone who:

Experience supporting children within Upper Key Stage 2, in particularly on a 1:1 basis.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
Available to start ASAP.
Able to commute to the outskirts of Stafford.
Able to work under the guidance of the class teacher.
Fully registered to work with Academics.Pay £93 - £100 a day, holiday pay is included in the day rate.
